Patents Policy

Our position on patents. Last updated October 16, 2026.

1. Position

The Monsireaux Studio does not pursue patent protection over its own methods or designs as a matter of policy. We believe the work we do is better served by being shared than by being fenced.

2. Defensive Use

We reserve the right to defend ourselves against patent claims, and to use any rights available to us in that defence. Reserving that right is not a change of policy.

3. Third-Party Patents

We make reasonable efforts to avoid infringing the patent rights of others. If you believe our work does so, contact [email protected] with the patent number and the specific conduct concerned, and we will investigate in good faith.

4. Open-Source Commitments

Where our open-source projects are released under the GNU AGPLv3, the patent provisions of that licence apply to those projects.
